“TURN YOUR FACE TO THE SUN AND THE SHADOWS FALL BEHIND YOU.”
In 2013 Mark met Lisa, the woman who would quickly become the love of his life and his beloved wife. Theirs quickly became a unified vision to bring together a shared love and faith and reflect that love through compassionate service and hospitality to any and all in need of rest, peace, encouragement and hope.
Through Him, Grace Ranch, a Wisconsin 501-c-3 Non-Profit Human Services Ministry was created – to provide refuge to those who are struggling, hurting, in crisis, or simply in need of rest, renewal and rejuvenation.
We believe that rest is the first ingredient in wellness, happiness and healing. Grace Ranch is just that, a place of refuge – a break from the everyday trials we all face.
Our entire property, from our back deck to our Alpaca pastures, wooded areas and our natural outdoor chapel, is a place for individual personal reflection, meditation, prayer and communion with God and for Christian small groups, Bible studies, ministry teams and church staff to gather.
The beautiful Kinnickinnick State Park, one of Wisconsin’s most scenic, surrounds our beautiful Alpaca pastures. Our guests have the opportunity to hike and ski over 1,200 acres of impeccably groomed trails through rolling wild grass meadows, deep pine and deciduous forests and past crystal rivers and streams.
It is a part of our mission to provide all that nature has to offer – from outdoor recreation to simple serenity. Hiking, kayaking, trout fishing, bird watching, or a just a peaceful afternoon sitting in a comfy chair in the pastures with our beautiful alpacas, chickens, ducks and free range bunnies; Grace and Peace can be found here.
The Grace Ranch Mission is to provide all visitors and guests with open-armed hospitality, comfort, rest, encouragement, hope and healing through God’s amazing grace to facilitate a tangible, visible positive change in the lives of those we serve.
At some point we hope to begin construction of a huge vine covered outdoor atrium. This beautiful structure will be designed for family, church and corporate gatherings. Complete with a brick oven, outdoor kitchen and oak wood grill and seating for up to 40, this beautiful venue tucked away in the trees will be the ideal location for full service private events with all the amenities in a totally unique, quiet and peaceful setting.
Our bigger, long range vision is the occupation of a much larger indoor facility nearby that we will call The Storm Shelter. From this enormous former sports complex we hope to launch the “Welcome Home Initiative”, a full service, Christ-centered human services organization. Here, individuals and families will find a temporary home, food, comfort, encouragement and the resources they need to get back on their feet and become happy, joyous, free, and self-sufficient, and to know the love of Jesus.
Little by little, God’s plan is unfolding in His way and in His time. One by one He brings people across our path and into our lives who we can bless and may need resources of the serenity of Grace Ranch. The Spirit lives here. God has big plans for His servants and this place.
